Draft Date

Unless anyone has made labor day plans...that usually seems to be a pretty flexible weekend for most. As of right now, the draft is set for 11 a.m. central time on Saturday Sept. 5. We will say for now that the Payne plantation in Henderson will be the location, but that can change. I would really like to set the date and time more than anything. I know how much this means to all the owners, so I know you will find a way to be there.

  1. I think Labor Day weekend is the way to go also. Swinney Manor is available to host in case Ray has already expelled Taylor from the premises.

Will Scott and Ben be attending? If so, Western Kentucky is a better spot, but otherwise Louisville and W Ky are equally convenient for this league of gents.

  2. Labor Day weekend is fine with me. Of course The Payne's can host, the only issue is what would be the easiest for everyone.

For Scott, Louisville really isn't much more of a drive than Henderson.

For Jim, Jason, Brandon(?), and John - Louisville is more convenient.

For Tyler, Bebo, Ben and Steve - Henderson is more convenient.

I really don't care, and I plan on being in Louisville enough looking for jobs that it won't affect me either way.

If we plan to start the draft sometime in the early afternoon then we don't really have to bother with sleeping arrangements because there will be time to head back to the Henderson or Louisville area. Of course people are welcome to stay the night in Henderson, but I can't promise too entertaining of a night. Louisville provides more night options, but sleeping arrangements becomes an issue for several.

  3. Louisville would be fine with me as well....only a little further than Henderson. I will talk to bebo as he could jump on board with 9000.

  4. My vote is for Louisville. I am already going to be driving 18 hours round trip from Raleigh to Louisville and I don't really want to add another 4 hours onto my mileage. Just putting my two cents in...

  5. I kind of like Taylor's idea of everyone coming into Louisville and making a bit of a weekend out of it. Even if it's just one night out, that could be a lot of fun, and I think between the Louisville natives, proper accommodations can be provided to all travelers.
Personally, I probably would not be able to spend the night down in Western Kentucky due to familial obligations, but I would be clear for a night out if it is local. I can still make it down to Hendo for the draft though. I can’t envision a scenario where I will miss that opportunity.

Then again, if we go out in Louisville either shortly before or after the draft, I think we all know what the main topic of conversation will be, and the entire evening will feel like that moment when someone opened the door and exposed our NBA Live draft to the public.
