Including new players

As far as I know, we have not yet determined conclusively how the new players will be incorporated into the league (or even if they are 100% sure they are playing as neither has joined the blog). My feeling is this:
We let them choose from our leftovers in a small draft:

Player 1
Player 2
Player 2
Player 1

whereby player 1 picks tenth in the draft and player 2 picks ninth. I also suggest that we let the first one of them to join this blog decide if he wants to be player 1 or player 2 in the scenario above.

As far as anything official, I defer to the commish to make a separate post for voting. I simply want to promote some discussion of this issue and I also want to make sure they are actually joining the league.

  1. Ok. Jimmy has joined so it appears he is at least playing, and under my earlier scenario gets to choose whether he wants to pick first and draft tenth or pick second and draft ninth.

  2. I like Digital's proposal. I am getting a little nervous that we are going to have 9 players. Where's Bebo?

  3. I think the only other agreeable proposal would be to let Jim and Bebo draft first and second, but not get the four "keeper" picks before we start the draft. That would sort of mirror how the NFL welcomes expansion teams.

If we go with Scott's proposal, I think we should make sure that Jim and Bebo submit their keepers before the draft, so that once we actually start to draft, we all know which players will be available, and we can clarify which players forfeit picks in which rounds. Would Jim get to pick whether he is 1 or 2 before or after keepers are submitted?

  4. I say Jim and Bebo submit their keepers within 24 hours of when we announce our keepers. In fact, we could witness their draft on gmail chat subsequent to our announcement of the keepers. In my scenario, Jim would pick whether he wants to pick 1 or 2 immediately after we announce our keepers.
