I've compiled the past four seasons statistics, which includes total wins, losses and ties for each team, and in parenthesis, the playoff finishes from 2007-2011, respectively. I included playoff wins and losses into the overall figures, but did not include consolation bracket wins or losses, explaining the difference in the amount of games each team has played.
Taylor: 40-24-1 (1st, 2nd, 2nd, 1st)
Jason: 39-25-1 (2nd, 1st, 4th, 4th)
Brandon: 33-31 (4th, 3rd, 6th, 6th)
Scott: 31-18 (n/a, 4th, 1st, 3rd)*
John: 24-32-2 ( - , - , - , 5th)
Tyler: 23-32-1 ( - , - , - , - )
Ben L: 22-33-1 ( - , - , - , - )
Steve: 21-36-1 ( - , - , 5th, - )
Everett: 19-13-1 (n/a, n/a, 3rd, 2nd)**
Jim: 18-26 (3rd, n/a, - , - )*
Ben E: 0-0 (n/a, n/a, n/a, n/a)***
Kyle: 0-0 (n/a, n/a, n/a, n/a)***
Scott, Ben, and Steve were each affected largely by one season of play. In Scott's second season ('09) he finished 14-2. Ben ('07) and Steve ('11) finished 3-11. Tyler has been very consistent in his sub-mediocrity (6-7-1; 6-8; 5-9; 6-8). Ben has shown steady improvement (3-11; 6-7-1; 6-8; 7-7).
* Three seaons of play
** Two seasons of play

There is no steady improvement from Ben. He had one really shitty season, and the rest were essentially the same.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that you decided to do this, Taylor. Mandy wanted me to research this info and include it in the slideshow. I elected for adding just one more goofy picture of each person. Maybe next year I'll provide data to go with the presentation.
ReplyDeleteIf there is one definitive thing to take away from this information it's that there is a clear No. 1 and a clear No. 2. The rest is up for debate.
ReplyDeleteI see one person with a >63% winning percentage (me), then two more who are close to, but less than 60%, Taylor and Jason.
ReplyDeleteLet's see where you are at after this season. Hard to sustain over four seasons.
ReplyDeleteDon't even act like I didn't contribute that first season. Regardless, a more appropriate comparison is my record against yours for the past three years.
ReplyDeleteScott: 31-18 (63% wins) with a championship. Taylor: 28-20-1 (57% wins) with a championship.
Jason: 29-20 (59% wins) with a championship. Math don't lie, bitch.
You mean that first year when I taught you how to play fantasy football?
ReplyDeleteAnd you forgot my two second place finishes, as well as your fourth place finish the year you drafted the entire Cleveland Browns' offense.
Anyway, here are my wins and losses against each owner.
ReplyDeletevs. Jason: 6-5
vs. Scott: 4-5
vs. Steve: 6-1
vs. Tyler: 3-4
vs. Jim: 5-2
vs. John: 5-2
vs. Brandon: 3-3
vs. Ben: 5-1-1
vs. Everett 3-1
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't totally embarassed by that record against Tyler. I'm glad he never makes the playoffs.
Yeah, that season when you told me the rules and I created the rankings we drafted from and then did all of the in-season transactions.
ReplyDeleteHere's an even more telling statistic:
Last 3 years total points scored during regular season, including last season when I scored more points than anyone and ended the season ranked 6th.
Scott: 4286
Taylor: 4156
Jason: 4127
And a losing record against me. Ouch.
Picking up Ryan Grant does not an all of the inseason transactions make.
ReplyDeleteIt was my name, my reputation, my penis on the line that season. You apprenticed, assisted (getting me coffee when asked), and eventually aided in minor management strategy.
After all that training, I thought you would have picked up on the most vital aspect of my organization - We Play for Championships. You've played for one. I've played for four, and won two.
I am sure your mom has a nice collection of your red ribbons.
ReplyDeleteI think your contribution to the '08 team was the selection of Frank Gore, who was our most disappointing player. I also remember thwarting an untoward trade by nabbing Jacobs off the waiver wire.
Are you two fighting?
ReplyDeleteI want to anthropomorphize your team so I can murder it with some ricin that I sprinkle on its french fries.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that you two have finished being gay, at least in this particular comments section.
