I am creating the draft board and thought it time to officially change my name. I have a soft spot for scientific names, and this one sounds cool in addition to being a mathematical concept. The other names I was considering (antimatter annihilation and spinodal decomposition) are longer than 20 characters.
Killing horizon sounds like it involves killing, and it does, Wilhelm Killing to be precise. A Killing horizon is a null hypersurface on which there is a null Killing vector field. I am using it to refer specifically to a black hole's Killing horizon.
What is interesting about a Killing horizon is that it coincides with a black hole's Event Horizon which isn't just a terrible movie. An event horizon (which is a type of Killing Horizon) is the effective edge of a black hole. If you find yourself staring at a Killing horizon, you will see only darkness (much like when you see yourself staring at a matchup with Killing horizon this season). When you reach the killing horizon, you're doomed. You will basically turn into pure energy as you accelerate to the center of the black hole.
Nothing can escape from inside a Killing horizon.

I think this name change is for the best. On an unrelated note, I'm disappointed that no one has stepped up to the plate with an analysis of last night's draft.
