I thought this league had a losers bracket? Which, I think I certainly would have won this year. If this is the commissioners fault because he didn't want to lose to me in these the loser playoffs than I demand an explanation. I think we can still settle who comes in second place. Tyler, Jimmy, myself and whoever the other person is who didn't make it shall start a season of diplomacy and the winner in that dimension gets the Gentlemens League second place trophy.
And to Ben Jimmy and the other guy, I will need your diplomacy passwords which I hope are the same as your email passwords. If they aren't send those my way too.

First of all, we would never award a trophy for anything but winning the championship of our league.
ReplyDeleteSecond, even if there was a trophy awarded for the consolation bracket, it would not be considered a second place trophy. It would be considered a trophy for the person who finished at the top of the bottom four. Essentially, a trophy for 7th place.
As gentlemen competitors, as I don't even believe in a second place trophy (and will not allow my future children to accept them), I certainly do not believe in handing out 7th place trophies.
If John wants to compete in the Special Olympics Fantasy Football League to receive a 7th place ribbon, I think Scott knows of a league.
I am pretty sure there was a Losers' Bracket a few weeks ago. The way I hear it, Tyler nearly had a nervous breakdown trying to decide which Houston running back to start and almost deleted the entire league before Amy calmed him down by advising him to delete the Losers' Bracket only.
ReplyDeleteAnd finally, if anyone in this league ever calls it the consolation bracket, I will punch that person in the ear. It's the Losers' Bracket and that's where the losers play.
Can it at least be third place? Let's bring some legitimacy to the Loser's bracket.

ReplyDeleteIt's not a second champion. It's a consolation bracket winner. There is a champions bracket, the winner of which is known as the champion. There is a consolation bracket, the winner of which is not a champion, but the winner of the consolation bracket, or 7th place.
